As we know DreamHost is best WordPress hosting provider in shared hosting services. Today I am going to share the process to install your WordPress website with DreamHost shared hosting service.
You need to follow below steps to install WordPress with DreamHost control panel:
Step 1: Open DreamHost panel URL and Login with your credentials.
Step 2: There is the menu on the left side in your control panel. Expand “Domain” menu and click on “Manage Domain” option.
Step 3: Manage Domain page will load, where you will get the “Add Hosting to a Domain/Sub-domain” button. If your domain is listed in manage domain page then no need to go through this option. I am going to create another subdomain “test.gutann.com” which is not listed in my domain page. So I need to click on this button to create sub-domain.
Step 4: After clicking on button “Add Hosting to a Domain/Sub-domain” you will get Fully Hosted page, where you need to fill the form to create a sub-domain. First, fill sub-domain URL at “Domain to host” option. Check the option for your domain to get the WWW or ignore it. Select a user for your domain hosted to under this user.
Scroll the page and select if you want to “automatic upgrade PHP” if available in feature and select “Extra web Security” feature provided by DreamHost. At last click on the button “Fully host this domain” to host your required Sub-domain.
After clicking on “Fully host this domain” button, your “Manage Domain” page will reload with Success message to host your domain and showing Nameservers with their IP for your newly hosted sub-domain.
And you can see your new sub-domain under the root domain on the same page by scrolling.
Step 5: Now your new sub-domain is ready to use the WordPress. To install WordPress expand “GOODIES” menu in control panel menu and click on “One-Click Installs” option. After clicking on “One-Click Installs” option, One-Click Install page will appear with application list which is ready to install with a single click. Find the WordPress and click on the WordPress to install.
Step 6: After clicking on WordPress “DreamHost One-Click Installer” Window will appear. Here, you need to select the domain or sub-domain where you want to install WordPress at “Install to” option.
Now you need to select the database to connect with WordPress if you have the database then choose from list otherwise select “Automatic Create Database”, this will create a new database for your new WordPress.
Now click on “Install it for me now!” button to start the WordPress Installation process.
After clicking on “Install it for me now!” button One-Click Install page will reload with success message of WordPress Installation on given URL and it shows the URL with the message like WordPress will install in within 10 min.
Step 7: After 10-15 min opens the new tab in the browser and try to open your domain where you have installed WordPress, In my case I have installed in “www.test.gutann.com”, So, I am trying to open this URL.
Now, your URL will load with the WordPress installation screen like below image, where you need to choose language and click on “Continue” button to go to the next step.
Step 8: Now your WordPress Installation appear with Welcome screen, where you need to fill “Site Title” which will appear in header of your website, “Username” for admin user to manage your site, “Password” for admin user password, if you are setting week password you need to check the option “confirm use of weak password”, fill your email ID, and select the option to allow search engine to list your website or ignore, then click on “Install WordPress” button to start your website setup process.
Step 9: After completing all setup process, you will get the “Success” message window with Username and Password details and Login button. You can click on “Login” button to get the admin login console.
Step 10: In admin login console you can fill your admin username and password then click on “Login” button to get the Admin Dashboard. By default WordPress login URL is “<Your URL>/wp-admin”.
You will get the Admin dashboard like below image:
Now you need to try your URL in the browser again to open, and you will get your website with default theme or WordPress.
