To create new WordPress post, Authors need to go to the admin dashboard of WordPress CMS.
In the Admin dashboard, there is one menu called “Posts” in the left navigation menu. As given in the below image you can navigate the Posts menu:
In the Posts page you can see all posts and on the top there is one button with name “Add New”, you can create a new post by clicking on this button.
When you clicked on the “Add New” button, you will get the window where you can create the new post like below images. Here you need to write heading for a new post, content for the post, and you need to select the format for the post from the various options (standard, Aside, Image, video etc.).
There are lots of options you need to select and set the value for them. Some options are available according to the plugins which are used by WordPress. After scrolling the window you will get two basic option to select for the new post. These options are a category for the post and tags for the posts. These two options are very important for the post to categories the post in future and for SEO point of view also.
You can get the suggestion also to create a tag for the post on the basis of previously created tags.
After set all parameters and options you can publish your new post by clicking on the publish button at the right top option.
When you successfully published a post the “Publish” button will convert in “Update” button and if you want to do any changes in the post you need to update the post after modification of post contents.
If you want to do anything with that post in future, you need to go to the All posts window where all posts are listed. When you hover the cursor to the post you will get the menu with the various options (Edit, Quick Edit, Trace, view etc). if you want to delete the post you need to click on “Trace” option and the post will move into the Trace folder.
After creating you can view your new post at your WordPress installed URL home page like below image.
